About Morrissey Gene

Morrissey Gene started when I left retail after the birth of my youngest. I am a self taught crocheter but didn't start my crochet journey until a few years ago whilst on maternity leave.
On the hunt for unique and vintage inspired baby accessories but never quite finding what I was after I decided to make my own, inspired by some of the beautiful work that I have from my Omi and Great Omi on my Mother's side of the family.

All designs are my own and I take inspiration from my love for vintage, the ever changing tones in nature around us and my photography.
The yarn I work with is oeko tex certified which means my products are perfect for little ones and Mamas alike.
I like to work with a mix of alpaca, merino and cotton yarns which are all soft and gentle against skin.
Everthing is slow made by myself around bringing up my two children.

I'm also a keen hobby photographer.
My photography and crochet has blended over the past couple of years which all started with my first camera to take product photos on.
I take my camera with me whenever I go out wether it's a stroll around the city or a visit to the beach, I snap whatever catches my eye and I always prefer natural light in my photography, limited edition prints are available and new work available every couple of months.

I open the 1st of every month for custom orders and new ready-made stock.
Everything I make is made with longevity in mind, I hope you love my creations as much as the love that goes into them and that they are cherished by generations to come.
